A focus on reflection in technical education is crucial
Technical professions have a huge impact on the world — and with that comes moral responsibility. Yet, many technical students find it difficult to reflect on their own role, their assumptions, and the broader implications of their work. This project aimed to close that gap by giving both teachers and students the language and tools to explore these questions together.
With my team at Studio Z, we co-created the toolkit alongside researchers, designed animations and explainer materials, and built a clear visual identity for the project. The result was a complete, accessible package — now available through the Tech Your Future website — that’s being used and praised by educators across Saxion and beyond.
For me, this project was a reminder of how design can bridge research and practice: turning abstract insights into real, ethical conversations in the classroom.
